Travel Resources 2017-05-23T23:07:03+00:00

The internet has made traveling more accessible than ever and without these travel resources, I don’t know how I would get around! From booking flights and accommodations to researching my next destination, these are my go-to resources. Some of these links may be affiliate links that give me a small commission if you chose to use their service. I only recommend services that I use and believe in!

Booking Accomidations

Booking.com is my go to booking engine when searching for accommodations. They have over a million properties, free cancellation on most booking and have the lowest price guaranteed.

If I know I am looking for a hostel, Hostel World is guarenteed to have places that are not listed anywhere else. They also make it easy to search for dorms while some other sites make booking one bed, rather than one room confusing. They also have a best price guarentee!

Find some of the best places to stay if you are looking for something other than a hostel or standard hotel room. Airbnb is great when you are looking for a unique accommodation or traveling with others and is usually cheaper than getting a hostel or hotel.

Booking Flights

One and done as they say. Kayak.com covers all of the main airlines and some of the small local airlines as well. I really like to use the explore feature to see what is possible when im comparing desinations and stopovers.

Momondo has great features for complex searches and covers all airlines, big and unknown. They have been a great tool for finding cheap stopovers and saving me tons of time and money.

The best way to search multiple places at once when you are just looking for the cheapest fight to a general region. Always worth taking a look at!

Car, Rail and Unknown

If I am looking for a rental car, RentalCars.com is the obvious answer. I don’t really need to say much more.

Somehow Rome2Rio has managed to cram all of the bus, train and plane schedules into one place. Spectacular.

Uber has been a game changer in places where foreigners are easily taken advantage of. Simpley order an Uber and you will be getting the honest, fair price. And it’s simple! I use Uber when I just dont have the energy to haggle!

Staying Connected and Safe

I use Skype to call anywhere in the world on my cell phone via Wifi. it is super easy and at 2 cents per minute, it’s very affordable. When I need to call a phone number instead of Facetime, this is the solution.

Travel insurance can be a pain in the ass. World Nomads makes it simple. Whether I am climbing a mountain or catching surf, they have a plan to cover it. Simply tell them where you are going and for how long.
